Eden Rock - St Barths
The rock in the middle of St Jean Bay, and the island's social centre

Eden Rock is built on and around the granite outcrop that divides St Jean Bay, and it is the image most people carry of St Barth. Originally the home of aviator Remy de Haenen, it has been run by the Matthews family since the 1990s and was extensively rebuilt after Hurricane Irma.
Rooms, suites and villas are spread across the rock and both beaches, each individually decorated with art, antiques and a good deal of colour. The Rockstar and Villa Rockstar suites are among the most expensive rooms in the Caribbean.
Sand Bar on the beach is where the island congregates at lunchtime, and the hotel's spa and beach club keep the property busy in a way the quieter hotels are not. Book here for the scene, not for solitude.
