Le Barthelemy is the newest of the significant hotels on Grand Cul-de-Sac, and the one built with wellness at its centre. Its Sisley spa is the largest on the island, with a hammam, a sizeable treatment menu and a fitness studio that people actually use.
Rooms and suites are contemporary and generously sized, most with terraces facing the lagoon, and the larger suites have private plunge pools. The design is lighter and more current than the older St Barth properties.
The beach in front is protected by reef and stays calm, with paddleboards and kayaks on hand. Aux Amis is the beachfront restaurant, and the hotel keeps a quieter, more residential atmosphere than the St Jean crowd.
