The Oberoi Beach Resort, Lombok
Pavilions and pool villas in 24 acres of gardens on Lombok's quiet north coast

Lombok sits immediately east of Bali but attracts a fraction of the visitors, and the Oberoi occupies 24 acres of gardens on Medana Beach on its northwestern shore, facing the Gili Islands across a calm channel.
Accommodation divides between terrace pavilions set among the gardens and villas with walled courtyards and private pools, several of them directly on the beachfront. The architecture draws on Lombok and Balinese vernacular — thatched roofs, carved timber, open-sided pavilions — and the property completed a comprehensive rebuild before reopening, so the fabric is newer than the resort's long history suggests.
The beach has its own jetty, from which boats run to Gili Trawangan, Meno and Air for snorkelling and diving. Inland, Mount Rinjani's foothills, the Sendang Gile waterfalls and the Sasak villages of northern Lombok are all within reach for day trips.
