Labuan Bajo on the western tip of Flores is the launch point for Komodo National Park, and AYANA's Waecicu Beach resort is the largest full-service property there. It sits on its own white-sand bay a short drive from the harbour town, with every one of its rooms and suites facing the water and the islands scattered offshore.
The resort runs to a little over two hundred keys with seven dining venues and several ocean-view pools, so it is a larger operation than most on this list — the trade-off for having proper facilities in a place that had very few until recently.
Most guests come for the park. The resort operates its own phinisi-style boat and day trips out to Komodo and Rinca for dragon spotting, Padar Island for the viewpoint, Pink Beach and the manta ray channels at Manta Point. Flights connect Labuan Bajo to Bali in under an hour.
