COMO Uma Punakha
A small riverside lodge above the Mo Chhu, in Bhutan's warm subtropical valley

Punakha is lower and warmer than Thimphu or Paro, a valley of rice terraces, orange trees and two rivers that meet at one of Bhutan's most beautiful fortresses. COMO Uma Punakha is deliberately tiny, with eleven rooms and a two-bedroom villa arranged along a ridge above the Mo Chhu.
Rooms are simple and light, with wood floors, local textiles and windows filling most of one wall. Bukhari stoves take the edge off winter evenings. The COMO Shambhala therapists offer Bhutanese and Asian treatments, and the kitchen serves the group's signature clean-eating menu alongside Bhutanese dishes.
Activities centre on the valley: rafting down the Mo Chhu, the walk up to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten through the paddies, and Punakha Dzong at the confluence, especially during the spring festival.
