Chable occupies a restored henequen estate in the flat scrub country west of Merida, where the old hacienda buildings and chapel have been kept as the social heart and guests sleep in individual casitas with private pools threaded through the gardens.
The spa is the property's defining feature, built around a natural cenote in the grounds and used for water-based treatments as well as Mayan-influenced rituals. There are two restaurants, one of them a well-regarded fine-dining room working with Yucatecan ingredients.
Merida is about forty minutes away, and the Puuc Route ruins, Uxmal and the cenote country of the peninsula are all within a day's drive. Chichen Itza is roughly two hours east.
