Las Ventanas al Paraiso, A Rosewood Resort
The benchmark Los Cabos suite resort, all telescopes, fire pits and desert-to-sea views

Las Ventanas has set the standard for Los Cabos luxury since the late 1990s and still does much of what made it famous: suites with fireplaces, rooftop terraces and telescopes for whale-watching, and a staff-to-guest ratio that means requests tend to be anticipated rather than answered.
The architecture is deliberately low and white, stepping down desert terraces to the Sea of Cortez. Swimming in the sea here is limited by currents on some days, so the layered pools and the spa carry much of the day. Dining ranges from a seafood terrace to a fine-dining room with Baja wines.
Grey whales pass close offshore between roughly December and April, and the resort runs boat trips, sport fishing and excursions inland to the Sierra de la Laguna.
