Cayo Espanto is a small private island a few minutes by boat from San Pedro on Ambergris Caye, with seven villas and a hard cap of eighteen guests. Each villa has its own dock, plunge pool and a personal houseman who handles meals, drinks and arrangements throughout the stay.
There is no restaurant in the conventional sense: menus are agreed in advance and served wherever the guest wants, which is usually on their own veranda over the water. Rates cover meals, most drinks and non-motorised watersports.
The Belize Barrier Reef is close by for diving and snorkelling, and the Great Blue Hole is reachable as a day trip by boat or light aircraft. The whole island can be taken over for groups.
