Discovery Land's outpost on eleven miles of empty pink sand
Barbuda Ocean Club is Discovery Land Company's Caribbean project, built along the extraordinary pink-sand coastline that runs for miles down Barbuda's western shore. It is primarily a private residential club rather than a conventional hotel, with a limited number of beach cottages and villas available to guests and prospective members.
The model is the familiar Discovery one: a golf course, a beach club, a comfort-food kitchen, an outdoor pursuits programme and a deliberately relaxed, family-first atmosphere behind a discreet gate.
Barbuda itself remains almost empty, with frigate bird colonies in the northern lagoon and beaches that stay deserted all day. Access is by short flight or ferry from Antigua. Availability is restricted and rates are quoted on enquiry, so treat any published figure as indicative only.
