Carlisle Bay is built along a crescent of sand on Antigua's south coast, with the green hills of the rainforest rising directly behind it. The architecture is deliberately clean and horizontal, all pale timber and white louvres, and it has aged better than most resorts of its generation.
All eighty-seven rooms are suites, arranged in low blocks stepping back from the beach, with the Beach Suites offering direct sand access. Interiors are restrained and contemporary, favouring space over ornament.
There are four restaurants, an organic spa, five tennis courts and two pickleball courts, plus a screening room and a well-equipped children's club that makes it unusually workable for families. A private motor yacht is available for charter along the coast.
