Linkwasha sits on a private concession in the southeast of Hwange National Park, close to the open Ngamo Plains. The nine tented suites face a waterhole that pulls in buffalo, elephant and plains game through the dry months, and the main area is arranged so that you can watch it all from a chair without moving.

Hwange is best known for its elephant, which gather at pumped waterholes in extraordinary numbers as the season dries out, but the concession also produces lion, cheetah, wild dog and the drier-country antelope. Because the concession is private, night drives and off-road following are permitted where they are not in the park proper.

The camp is reached by air from Victoria Falls in under an hour, which makes it an easy add-on to a falls stay. Design is bright and mid-century in feel rather than heavy colonial.
