St Brides is built into the cliff above Saundersfoot harbour, and its defining feature is the outdoor infinity hydropool on the spa terrace, heated year-round and positioned so that the water appears to run straight into Carmarthen Bay. On a clear evening it is one of the better views in Welsh hospitality.
The hotel is modern and coastal in feel rather than historic, with bedrooms and suites in the main building and a separate set of self-contained village apartments up the hill for families and longer stays. The Cliff Restaurant and the Gallery bar both face the sea, and the kitchen works closely with Saundersfoot and Milford Haven boats.
The Marine Spa uses seaweed and marine-derived treatments and includes a thermal suite with sauna, steam and salt rooms alongside the hydropool. The harbour and beach are a two-minute walk below, Tenby is three miles south, and the coast path runs through the town.
