Twr y Felin Hotel
A converted windmill in Britain's smallest city, hung with commissioned art

Twr y Felin takes its name and its shape from an 1806 windmill on the edge of St Davids, and bills itself as Wales's first contemporary art hotel: more than a hundred works were commissioned specifically for the building, all responding to Pembrokeshire, and they hang in the corridors and bedrooms rather than being corralled into a gallery.
Rooms are clean-lined and pale, a deliberate contrast to the heavy country-house style that dominates elsewhere in Wales, and the tower itself contains a suite reached by its own stair. Blas, the restaurant, holds three AA rosettes and cooks Pembrokeshire seafood, saltmarsh lamb and produce from within a few miles.
Britain's smallest city is a short walk away, with its twelfth-century cathedral and the ruined Bishop's Palace sunk in the valley below. The Pembrokeshire Coast Path, Whitesands Bay and boat trips to Ramsey Island are all within a couple of miles.
