Lundies House
A restored manse on the far north coast, run with quiet Scandinavian restraint

Lundies House occupies a nineteenth-century manse in the village of Tongue, looking out over the Kyle towards Ben Loyal. It belongs to Wildland, the conservation-minded estate group behind several Highland properties, and shares their particular aesthetic: pale walls, undyed linen, Danish furniture, almost nothing superfluous.
Stays are full board. Breakfast, a packed lunch for the day and a candlelit three-course dinner are all included, the food built around what the north coast and the kitchen garden provide, served on locally thrown ceramics with a natural wine list alongside. Bedrooms are divided between the manse, converted steadings and courtyard studios, with a self-catering apartment for longer stays.
A sauna yurt and cold plunge sit in the grounds. Beyond them are the beaches at Coldbackie and Torrisdale, the ridge of Ben Hope and a stretch of the North Coast 500 that most drivers rush and should not.
