Kamalaya Koh Samui
A wellness sanctuary built around a monk's meditation cave on Samui's south coast

Kamalaya occupies a steep, green slope on Samui's undeveloped southern shore, arranged around a cave that Buddhist monks are said to have used for meditation retreats for centuries. The cave remains at the centre of the property and is still used for meditation sessions.
Guests generally arrive on a structured programme rather than for a straightforward hotel stay — detox, stress relief, sleep, weight management and yoga intensives are the main tracks, each combining consultations, treatments, prescribed meals and movement classes. Stays are typically booked in blocks of several nights, and pricing is usually quoted as a package rather than a nightly room rate.
Rooms are simple by luxury-resort standards, spread across the hillside among gardens and terraces, with the emphasis firmly on the clinical and holistic facilities: a sizeable treatment complex, hydrotherapy, a yoga pavilion and two restaurants serving programme-appropriate food.
