Hotel Nantipa
Barefoot beachfront bungalows on Santa Teresa's surf-and-sunset strip

Nantipa runs from Santa Teresa's main road down to the beach, which in this stretch of the Nicoya Peninsula means a wide expanse of grey-gold sand with consistent surf and some of the best sunsets in Costa Rica. Accommodation is a mix of garden and beach bungalows and suites, plus a three-bedroom villa.
The tone is deliberately relaxed rather than formal: an open-sided beachfront restaurant, a pool, a small spa and surfboards to borrow. Santa Teresa's yoga studios, cafes and bars are within walking distance.
The Nicoya Peninsula is one of the world's designated Blue Zones, and the area has grown from surf outpost to an established international scene without entirely losing the dirt roads.
