The Nam Hai sits on a wide beach between Da Nang and Hoi An, its villas arranged around three stepped infinity pools that draw the eye straight out to the East Sea. Each villa is built as a raised platform with a daybed at its heart, a design borrowed from traditional Vietnamese houses and reinterpreted in pale stone and dark timber.
The larger pool villas come with walled gardens and staff who will cook breakfast in the villa if you would rather not walk anywhere. The spa occupies eight thatched pavilions set over a lotus pond, and the cooking school runs market trips into Hoi An.
Hoi An old town, a UNESCO site of shophouses and tailors, is a short drive away, as are the My Son Cham ruins and the Marble Mountains.
