Four Seasons Resort Seychelles
Hillside villas tumbling down to a beach hemmed in by granite

This resort occupies a steep amphitheatre of jungle above Petite Anse, a crescent of sand on Mahe's less-developed southwestern coast. The villas are built into the slope on stilts so that each looks out over the canopy to the water, and buggies ferry guests up and down what would otherwise be a punishing walk.
The setting is classically Seychellois: granite boulders worn smooth at either end of the bay, takamaka trees, and a reef close enough to swim to. Because Mahe is a real island with towns, markets and mountains rather than a resort-only sandbank, it is easy to combine a stay here with hiking in Morne Seychellois National Park or a day at the Victoria market.
Facilities include a hilltop spa built among the boulders, several restaurants, a dive centre and a children's club. It is around a 45-minute drive from the international airport on a winding coastal road, which is scenic but not quick.
