Coral Reef Club
Family-run gardens and cottages tumbling down to a west-coast beach

Coral Reef Club is the west coast at its most relaxed: a dozen acres of flowering gardens threaded with paths, scattered with cottage suites and coral-stone wings, all sloping gently to a private beach. The O'Hara family has run it for generations and the atmosphere is closer to a large country house party than a hotel.
Accommodation ranges from garden rooms to luxury cottage suites with plunge pools and shaded verandas. Nothing is showy; the appeal lies in space, quiet and the sense that nobody is trying to sell you anything.
Evenings revolve around the terrace restaurant, where the long-running weekly buffet is something of an island institution, and afternoon tea is served without irony. The Sandpiper, its sister hotel, is a short walk along the sand.
