Fifteen garden cottages on the escarpment above the Chobe River

Chobe Chilwero stands on the escarpment above the Chobe River at the park's eastern end, near Kasane. The name translates roughly as a place of high views, and the panorama over the river and the floodplain towards Namibia is the reason the site was chosen.
Fifteen thatched cottages are spread through dense private gardens, each with an outdoor shower, a large bath and a private courtyard. The main areas include a pool on the ridge, a spa and a cigar and wine room, with a distinctly lodge-like rather than tented feel.
Chobe holds one of the largest elephant populations anywhere, and the river frontage is the best place to watch them. Activities split between afternoon boat cruises, which put you at eye level with drinking herds, and game drives into the Serondela area of the park. Day trips to Victoria Falls are straightforward from here.
