Sandibe holds a private concession on the western edge of the Moremi Game Reserve, adjoining Chief's Island, with permanent water on one side and palm-studded dry ground on the other. The lodge's architecture is its signature: twelve suites clad in overlapping timber shingles, curved and lifted off the ground, drawing on the scaled form of a pangolin and the woven structure of a weaver's nest.
Inside, the suites are airy and pale, with glass walls, a private plunge pool, a sala for daytime rest and a fireplace for winter nights. The main lodge opens onto a deck above a floodplain that elephants cross regularly.
Game viewing is strong year-round, with lion, leopard, buffalo and large elephant herds on the concession and wild dog moving through. Because the lodge is on a private concession, off-road driving and night drives are permitted, unlike inside the national reserve.
