Xigera Safari Lodge
Twelve suites furnished as a showcase of contemporary South African design

Xigera stands on Paradise Island in the western reaches of the Moremi Game Reserve, surrounded by permanent Delta channels. The lodge was rebuilt entirely and functions partly as a gallery: almost every piece of furniture, lighting and metalwork was commissioned from South African artists and makers, from a hand-forged bronze staircase to a treehouse suite raised above the floodplain.
Twelve suites sit on raised decks with plunge pools, wide views across the water and the sound of hippo through the night. The Baobab Treehouse can be slept in on request, well away from the main camp.
Activities are water-heavy given the location, with motorboat and mokoro excursions through the papyrus, alongside game drives on the surrounding islands and night drives. The camp is run with an unusually high staff-to-guest ratio and has a strong sustainability programme, including a large solar installation.
