Wild Coast Tented Lodge
Cocoon tents where the jungle meets an empty beach on the edge of leopard country

Wild Coast sits at the point where Yala's scrub jungle runs out onto a wide, wild beach, and the architecture takes the same organic cue: clusters of curved bamboo-framed cocoons that look like boulders scattered along the shore. Each has copper bathtubs, teak floors and, in the larger tents, a private plunge pool.
Yala's western block holds one of the densest leopard populations anywhere, and the lodge runs game drives at dawn and late afternoon with its own naturalists. Elephants, sloth bears, crocodiles and a rich bird list round out the sightings.
Back at camp, a cascading pool sits at the centre of the main pavilion, and elephants and buffalo occasionally wander through, so guests are escorted to their tents after dark.
