The Gainsborough Bath Spa
The only hotel in Britain piped directly with Bath's natural thermal water

The Gainsborough occupies two listed Georgian and Victorian buildings a few minutes from the Roman Baths, and its distinguishing feature is beneath the floor: it holds the only private licence to draw Bath's natural thermal water into a hotel.
That water feeds Spa Village Bath, arranged as a bathing circuit through a series of pools at different temperatures, with an infrared sauna, steam room and ice alcove. The circuit is housed in a skylit atrium at the centre of the building, and guests get allocated access windows.
Rooms are calm and contemporary against the period shell, and a handful of spa suites have thermal water plumbed to the bath. The restaurant works with regional producers, and the location means the Abbey, Pulteney Bridge and the Thermae baths are all walkable.
