Langdon Hall Country House Hotel & Spa
A Federal Revival country house and kitchen garden an hour west of Toronto

Langdon Hall was built in 1898 as the summer residence of a descendant of John Jacob Astor and survives largely intact — a Federal Revival house of white clapboard and columns, set in seventy-five acres of gardens, orchard and Carolinian forest about an hour west of Toronto.
The restaurant is the reason most people make the drive. It has held Relais & Chateaux status for decades and Michelin recognition since the guide reached Toronto, cooking from the property's own kitchen garden, orchard and the surrounding Waterloo County farmland. Afternoon tea in the conservatory is an institution in its own right.
Rooms are divided between the main house and the converted stable wing, many with fireplaces and views over the lawns. The spa is small and unhurried, there is a heated outdoor pool, and trails run from the grounds into the neighbouring forest and along the Grand River.
