Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort & Spa
The only resort on a mountainous national park island

Silhouette is the third largest island in the Seychelles and one of the least developed - almost the entire landmass is a national park of rainforest and granite peaks rising to over 700 metres. Labriz is the only resort on it, strung along a two-kilometre beach on the eastern shore with the mountains directly behind.
That setting gives the place a different character from the beach-and-boulders resorts elsewhere in the archipelago. Trails lead up into the forest past endemic plants and the island's small conservation station, and there is a genuine sense of wildness once you leave the sand. The reefs offshore are protected and the diving is good.
The resort itself is large by Seychelles standards, with a spread of villa categories from garden to beachfront and a fairly extensive set of restaurants for an island with no other options. Access is a 45-minute boat ride or a short helicopter hop from Mahe.
