On the far northwestern corner of Koh Samui, away from Chaweng and Bophut, this Four Seasons is built into a steep, heavily planted hillside that runs down to a private crescent of sand. Buggies ferry guests between the villas, which are stepped so that almost every one has an uninterrupted view across the Gulf of Thailand towards Koh Phangan.
Villas range from one-bedroom units with plunge pools to large multi-bedroom residences. The public areas cluster at beach level around an infinity pool, a beach restaurant and a Thai dining room, with the spa set higher up among the trees.
Families are well served — there is a kids' club, a Muay Thai ring and watersports off the beach — but the topography and the spacing of the villas keep the resort feeling calm rather than busy.
