Cromlix is an 1874 Victorian mansion on a thirty-four acre estate outside Dunblane, bought and restored by Andy and Kim Murray. It closed at the start of 2026 for a substantial redevelopment and reopened in late May, so what guests find now is largely new behind a familiar exterior.
The estate includes its own loch, woodland walks and a private Victorian chapel still used for weddings. Three dining spaces came out of the refurbishment, headed by a sixteen-cover tasting room called Cradle, with the Garden Room and a glasshouse for afternoon tea alongside. A woodland retreat with sauna and cold plunge is the other addition.
It holds five AA stars, three AA rosettes and a Michelin Key. Stirling, Gleneagles and the southern edge of the Trossachs are all within half an hour, and Glasgow and Edinburgh both inside an hour.
