The Rosa Alpina was run by the Pizzinini family in San Cassiano for three generations and became one of the best-known hotels in the Dolomites, partly through its association with the restaurant St Hubertus. It closed in 2023 for a full rebuild and reopened on 24 July 2025 as Aman Rosa Alpina, redesigned by Jean-Michel Gathy.
The new version has 51 rooms and suites, a substantial spa, and the pared-back material palette Aman is known for - pale timber, stone, very little pattern - applied to an alpine idiom rather than replacing it. Rates have risen sharply from the pre-renovation hotel, which is the clearest signal of the repositioning.
San Cassiano sits in Alta Badia, inside the Dolomiti Superski area and within reach of the Sellaronda circuit, so winter access to skiing is direct. Summer brings via ferrata, hiking and road cycling over the Passo Gardena and Passo Falzarego. The hotel runs two seasons with breaks in between.
