Winteringham Fields
Lincolnshire's only Michelin star, deep in the fields above the Humber

Winteringham Fields sits in open countryside in the village of Winteringham, a few miles west of the Humber Bridge, and it has held a Michelin star as the only starred restaurant in Lincolnshire. The kitchen works closely with what the surrounding land and the nearby coast provide — fish from the North Sea, local meat, and vegetables and herbs from its own garden.
Rooms are spread between the main house and converted barns and cottages around it, comfortably and traditionally furnished rather than fashionably so. The restaurant operates a limited weekly schedule, so booking around the opening days matters.
The setting is genuinely rural and largely undiscovered by visitors. The Humber estuary is minutes away, the Lincolnshire Wolds rise to the south east, and Lincoln with its cathedral is around an hour's drive.
