The Angel at Hetton
A fifteenth-century Dales inn with a Michelin star in the kitchen

The Angel has stood in the small village of Hetton since the fifteenth century, and for most of the last four decades it has been better known for its food than its bedrooms. Chef-patron Michael Wignall and his wife Johanna took the inn on in 2018; the Michelin star arrived in 2019 and was retained again in February 2026.
There are sixteen rooms, split between the original stone building and Fell View Barn a few steps away. They range from compact studios to suites, and the design keeps faith with the building — exposed stone and beams, but with proper bathrooms and the kind of bed you resent leaving.
The surrounding country is classic limestone Dales: drystone walls, sheep pasture and the great amphitheatre of Malham Cove twenty minutes away. Skipton and the Bolton Abbey estate are both within easy reach.
