The Headland Hotel & Spa
Red-brick Victorian landmark on its own headland above Fistral Beach

Standing alone on a headland with sea on three sides, this vast late-Victorian pile has been in the same family for decades and has been steadily modernised rather than gutted. It looks out over Fistral Beach, one of the best-known surf breaks in Britain.
The Aqua Club spread across the lower levels is the main draw, with a run of indoor and outdoor pools including a heated edge pool pointed straight at the sunset, plus a vitality pool, thermal rooms and a long treatment list. Families are well served; couples tend to book the quieter adult hours.
Accommodation runs from traditional hotel rooms in the main house to self-contained cottages scattered around the grounds, which suit longer stays.
