Northcote
Ribble Valley cooking that has held its star for three decades

Northcote began life as a Victorian manor house on the edge of the Ribble Valley and has spent the last thirty years building one of the most consistent reputations in English fine dining. The kitchen, led by Lisa Goodwin-Allen, has held a Michelin star for an unusually long unbroken run.
The rooms have been extended and refurbished over time, and they now stand up on their own terms rather than simply existing to keep diners off the road. There is a kitchen garden, a cookery school and a wine list that rewards attention.
The Forest of Bowland begins a few miles north, offering some of the emptiest upland walking in England, while Clitheroe, Whalley Abbey and the villages beneath Pendle Hill make for an easy day out.
