Thirty thatched bungalow suites on a four-acre island reached only by boat

Little Palm Island is a four-acre scrap of land off Little Torch Key, three miles out into the Atlantic, with no road to it. Guests arrive by the resort's launch or by seaplane. There are thirty thatched-roof bungalow suites set among coconut palms, each with an outdoor shower and a deck, and no televisions anywhere on the island.
The rules are firm and part of the point: no guests under eighteen, and no audible mobile phones in public areas. What is left is a beach, a spa of open-air treatment pavilions, a pool, and a restaurant that has long been one of the more ambitious kitchens in the Keys, serving on the sand under strings of lights.
The surrounding water is the draw — Looe Key reef is close by for diving and snorkelling, and the flats around the Lower Keys are famous for bonefish and tarpon. The island was rebuilt after Hurricane Irma and has been fully operating since.
