Wildhive Callow Hall
A Victorian hall and treehouses in the woods above Dovedale

Callow Hall reopened under the Wildhive name in 2021 after a full reimagining, and the result is a long way from the conventional country house hotel it once was. The Victorian hall itself holds boldly decorated bedrooms, while the surrounding woodland conceals elevated cabins — 'hives' — and treehouses for guests who want the estate to themselves.
The grounds run to dozens of acres of meadow and woodland dropping towards the River Bentley, and the whole operation leans into that: foraging, wild swimming nearby, and a kitchen that cooks close to the seasons.
Ashbourne is minutes away and Dovedale, with its stepping stones and limestone gorge, is one of the most photographed corners of the Peak District. Alton Towers and the Staffordshire moorlands lie to the west.
