Domaine de Murtoli
Two and a half thousand hectares of wild Corsica, and almost nobody else

Murtoli is less a hotel than a privately owned valley on Corsica's south-west coast, running from the maquis-covered hills down to a stretch of beach and river mouth that has escaped development entirely. The owner spent decades buying and restoring the estate's abandoned granite bergeries - shepherds' houses - and letting them individually, each with its own pool, staff and total privacy.
Alongside the houses there is a small hotel in the old farm, a newer ten-key property that opened in 2025, several restaurants scattered across the land (one on the beach, one in a cave, one at the farm), a golf course laid into the landscape and a spa. Guests move around by buggy or on foot along tracks through cork oaks and wild olive.
The scale is what sets it apart: you can walk for an hour and see nobody. Nearby Sartène and Bonifacio give the region some of Corsica's most dramatic architecture and coastline. It is emphatically a summer proposition and closes over the winter.
