Delaire Graff Estate
A working wine estate on the Helshoogte Pass, hung with a serious art collection

Delaire Graff occupies a ridge on the Helshoogte Pass between Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, with the Simonsberg filling the view from almost everywhere on the property. The estate combines a working cellar, two restaurants, a spa and a scatter of lodges spread through terraced gardens, most with a private heated pool and outdoor terrace.
The art is not incidental. Sculpture and contemporary South African painting are placed throughout the public spaces and the lodges themselves, and the owner's jewellery house maintains a boutique on site. It gives the estate a gallery-like quality unusual among Cape wine farms.
The kitchen draws on the estate's own produce and the surrounding Boland farms, and wine tastings are held in the cellar looking out over the vines. Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and the Banghoek valley are all within a short drive, which makes this a practical base for exploring the Winelands.
